As an English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Tutor for Primary and Secondary Age Pupils, your role is to facilitate the language acquisition and integration of students who are non-native English speakers.

Individualised Learning Support:

  • Identify and address the unique language needs of each pupil, providing tailored support to enhance their language skills.
  • Offer oneonone or small group sessions to reinforce specific language areas requiring improvement.

Cultural Sensitivity:

  • Foster a culturally inclusive environment that celebrates diversity and promotes crosscultural understanding.
  • Integrate cultural elements into language lessons to enrich pupils' appreciation of different traditions and backgrounds.

Assessment and Progress Monitoring:

  • Conduct regular assessments to gauge pupils' language proficiency and track their progress over time.
  • Provide constructive feedback to pupils and collaborate with other educators to address language development goals.

Collaboration with School Staff:

Experience/Knowledge

  • Proven experience in Tuition.
  • Proven experience in teaching or training within the UK.
  • Current Knowledge of the National Curriculum Skills
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to build rapport quickly.
