    Job Introduction

This is an exciting time to join the West of England Combined Authority. We are seeking to appoint a Head of Portfolio Management the PMO in the Infrastructure Directorate. The PMO, that this position will lead, provides the framework, oversight and the necessary controls across 7 programmes with a total value in excess of £800m.

This is a fantastic opportunity to help deliver critical transport infrastructure projects that are helping our region to grow, addressing some of our climate change problems, and improving our transport networks. We are delivering with our partners over £1bn of infrastructure projects in rail, walking, cycling, transport technology and bus services. Your key responsibilities in this role would be to ensure a focus on delivering the priorities of the Metro Mayor by:

    • Providing a management framework and centre of excellence covering a standardised, consistent approach for portfolio, programme and project delivery.
    • Creating and own the standards and processes which facilitate timely and accurate reporting at Programme and Portfolio level.
    • Having oversight of the meetings and governance structure within the Infrastructure Directorate and ensure that it remains fit for purpose and effective.
    • Undertaking high level assurance/reviews at key project junctures on core project management data (i.e. Schedule, Risk / Issues Register).
    • Supporting the development of Programme and Project management skills/competencies and support the Combined Authorities' aspiration for corporate membership of the APM competencies.

If you are ambitious, innovative, collaborative, confident and inclusive, ultimately always focusing on delivery then this is the role for you.

Visit the organisation's website to find out more about the Combined Authority's work. We may close the advert before the closing date if sufficient applications have been received.
