Our vessels provide a range of support, which include for example: dive support, military training, submarine rescue exercises, target/test equipment deployment/recovery and passenger transfers.

We have an opening for an Efficient Deck Hand to join our existing team based at HMNB Portsmouth

The purpose of the position is to act as the main labour force aboard any vessel or facility that requires an EDH/AB grade

Main Accountabilities:

Berthing/Slipping of the Vessel.
Ship Husbandry Tasks.
Mooring up of the Vessel when going to anchor.
Ship Operational Tasks.
Cleaning Tasks as directed by the Line Manager.
Emergency equipment and procedures and location and use of fire fighting equipment.
Drive deck machinery including cranes.
Assist in repair and maintenance of ship's equipment.
Machinery care, routine maintenance and lubrication as directed by the Barge Master:
Issuing and Receiving cargo
Valve operation
Hose and connector handling
Crane operations
Ensure measures to prevent pollution of the environment are exercised
Rope handling
General maintenance and ships husbandry
Other deck related tasking's through the port as reasonable appropriate to qualification and experience
