Job Purpose:


  • The continuous Improvement Lead will work with the Continuous Improvement Manager and the wider team, using the Lean toolbox to actively identify need and opportunity for improvement.
Using tried and tested tools and techniques to manage improvement based projects whilst coaching process and area owners.

Working to the company objectives related to improving efficiency whilst reducing cost through identification and elimination of the Lean 8 Wastes.


Key Accountabilities:


  • Monitoring of KPI's to ensure all machines, equipment and departments are operating to optimise performance and maximise yield.
  • Identifying underperforming areas and processes, analyse root cause analysis leading to the planning, implementing, and delivering suitable solutions.
  • Lead trouble shooting and problem solving of process issues using techniques and tools such as VSM, DMAIC, A3 & PDCA.
  • Lead implementation of CI best practices including TPM, 5S and SMED.
  • Build upon and promote the culture of CI throughout the business.
  • Participate as a project lead, leading performance improvements and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Assist in planning and execution of projects to ensure project timelines, quality, and cost targets are met.
  • Participate in the delivery of inhouse CI based training and coaching materials to the wider team.
  • Working closely with the CI Manager as well as the wider scope of team members and stakeholders.

Key Experiences and Skills Required:


  • Experience in delivering Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Experience of working within industrial, manufacturing and warehouse environments.
  • Proven understanding and use of the 'Lean Toolbox' including, but not limited to 5S, 5 Whys, A3 & Ishikawa.
Strong communication, engagement, coaching and problem-solving skills.

  • Able to comfortably construct and deliver presentations to large groups.

Desirables Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Previous experience in similar CI based role(s).
  • Qualified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or similar.
