We are looking for a Local Environmental Officer - based in London.


Your Team
AGCS is strengthening its focus on imbedding Sustainability & ESG across the business and its own operations.

For our sustainability and ESG in operations, Local Environmental Officers (LEO) are needed to identify ESG needs and drive results in our regional and local operations.

The role will act as an ambassador requiring regular touchpoints with different stakeholders, both within AGCS and the wider Allianz Group, as well as externally.


The LEO will work in an international team spread around the world and report to the Head of ESG in Operations in the Corporate Services Transformation Team within the AGCS COO function and has a matrix reporting to the Global Environmental Officer (GEO) in ESG Operations.


The Impact You Will Have

The key objective is to report and analyze the company's environmental data and create action plans for all relevant areas (energy, water, waste, paper, travel) in order to achieve our ESG targets in Operations.

This requires close collaboration with other AGCS functions and Allianz Entities in order to deliver a regional strategy, cohesive with the Global Allianz targets and strategy.


Some of your specific responsibilities could include

  • Manage the Environmental reporting (ER) and its entire process for your region (beyond UK), including but not limited to: reporting process, documentation, deadlines, providers, contacts, structures.
  • Support defining and maintaining ER frameworks for inclusion into Corporate Rules Book
  • Monitor and analyze consumption/emissions data and propose actions to reduce footprint in regional context based on overarching global measures and initiatives based on the Allianz Group Sustainable Operations Standards and the overall AGCS ESG strategy
  • Support the development of ESG engagement initiatives and put them into action in your responsible region incl. communication
  • Maintain a standardized methodology with clear KPIs for evaluation of initiatives, steer regular tracking of initiatives and measure progress in your regional context
  • Supporting the monitoring of competitor and market activities regarding their operational ESG initiatives as well as regulatory developments in your regional context
  • Working closely with Allianz Group counterparts in conducting research and benchmarking of key trends, to translate best practices into key insights for AGCS
  • Actively support the GEO by outlining value and impact of prioritized initiatives, identify areas for improvement, specify requirements and implement recommendations to improve impact on AGCS and Group sustainability targets

What You'll Bring to the Role

  • Proven experience in Facility Management with focus on utilities and consumption
  • Proven experience in leading projects
  • Bachelor or equivalent preferably in (but not limited to) environmental management/ sustainability/real estate management
  • Good communication skills and strong solutionoriented mindset
  • Proven track record in managing global complex projects with senior stakeholders
  • Experience and deep understanding of processes, KPIs and business performance drivers
  • Strong analytical skills and hands on working mentality
  • Proven team player with problemsolving and conceptual capabilities
  • Passion for Sustainability/ ESG / Strategy / Innovation / Transformation topics
