Position Overview:

As a Slinger, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe movement and positioning of heavy materials on our construction sites.

Your expertise in slinging and signaling will be vital in maintaining a smooth workflow and preventing accidents or damage to equipment and materials.


Responsibilities:


  • Carry out slinging and signaling duties to safely move and position materials using cranes or other lifting equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with crane operators and other team members to ensure precise and accurate movements.
  • Inspect lifting equipment and materials for any signs of damage or defects before use.
  • Attach, secure, and detach loads correctly and safely using appropriate lifting accessories.
  • Monitor and control loads during lifting and movement operations to prevent accidents or damage.
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines and ensure compliance with lifting operations regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with other tradespeople and team members to ensure efficient and productive operations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Requirements:


  • Previous experience as a Slinger in the construction industry.
  • Valid Slinger Card or relevant certification.
  • Excellent knowledge of slinging and signaling techniques.
  • Proficiency in using lifting equipment and accessories.
  • Familiarity with different types of loads and their handling requirements.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations related to lifting operations.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Attention to detail and a focus on safety.
