Hanham Health in Bristol is seeking to rcruit a full time administrator to work 37.5 hours per week based at our Hanham Surgery.

Rate of pay is £11.12 per hour.
26 days holiday entitlement plus bank holidays and NHS pension.

Job Summary

The role of the Administrator & Summariser is to support the Practice with the provision of administrative services


These include:

  • Summarising and filing of new patient notes.
  • Processing GP2GP workflow for newly registered patients.
  • Scanning and summarisation of document workflow.
  • Allocating Path Lab results.
  • Registering new patients.
  • Ensuring all GPlinks and reports are completed in EMIS.
  • Assisting with prescription requests during periods of staff absence or training.
  • Covering inbound telephone calls during periods of staff absence or training.


The role includes access to highly sensitive information and the post holder should, therefore, ensure that they conduct their work with the strictest confidence and comply with information governance, data protection and record keeping policies at all times.


  • Supervision
The post holder will report directly to the Administration Team Leader


  • Education, skills & experience
They should be a good communicator with excellent team working skills. Any experience in the
NHS including medical terminology, EMIS Web, Read/SNOMED coding is desirable.


Previous experience of a GP practice would be beneficial, but it is not essential as full training will be offered.
