The Role:


Essential Job Functions

  • Understanding and complying with all company standards of food quality and safety assurance and taking immediate action in case of irregularities in the course of processes.
  • Management and improvement of Quality Management Systems including documentation, control and adherence to regulatory requirements, customer and internal driven requirements.
  • Manage day to day food safety and quality with review of quality record and trends,
  • Insures that all aspects of HACCP plan development, documentation and control are in place.
  • Provide direction and guidance to plant team and display leadership in directing quality in the areas of product evaluation and proper documentation. Quality Systems, HACCP, Micro, SPC, plant systems, inventory control, hold management and all programs incorporated within the Quality Management System.
  • Understand the manufacturing process flow. This includes understanding and auditing key programs that support overall sanitation, maintenance and inspection of the equipment/areas.
  • Actively participate in and help lead plant quality, food safety and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Understand quality standards, follow those standards and know what to do and who to contact when some process is not functioning correctly
  • Must possess the ability to identify and address a noncompliance issue in an EQ manner and make corrections.
  • Identify opportunities for corrective and preventive action to minimize and eliminate food safety & quality attribute concerns
  • Supports Sensory, Quality Systems, SPC & HACCP through individual and small group training/coaching with employees involved in the process.
  • Able to train others on product quality checks and other areas of quality system
  • Provide understanding and use of Bama and customer specifications in accordance to equipment and process capability studies.
  • Must possess ability and aptitude to conduct root cause analysis and followup to corrective actions as it relates to safety, quality, and productivity (QIPA process)
  • Responsible for isolating, tagging, and electronically placing defective materials on HOLD.
  • Continual maintenance of quality work instructions and verification of online quality processes. Areas for improvement will be addressed through training.
  • Supervises suppliers' audit preparation, participation and followup.
  • Manage finished product documentation and support product release process,
  • Support customer satisfaction/complaint resolution in alignment with other departments
  • Support supplier approval process, master specification of raw materials approval
  • Provide backup/Support for other Quality Coordinator and Food Safety and Quality Specialist
  • Support quality improvement projects and CAPEX projects
  • Support Quality Technician duties, as needed in their absence.
  • Support line cleaning process and improvement including verification
  • Identify continues improvement opportunities

The Person:


  • High School Level education (GCSE level or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of MS office system (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Knowledge of basic mathematical functions
  • Practical problemsolving skills
  • Knowledge of food production rules related in product safety and cleaning processes
  • Documented previous work experience
  • Perform the basic functions and physical requirements of the task with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Attend work regularly and punctually, work in the assigned position/area throughout the shift
  • Understand the manufacturing process, including understanding and auditing the most important programs supporting the process of cleaning, maintenance and inspection of equipment/area.
