An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and dedicated Health Care Assistant to join our Mountbatten IPU team and we are currently looking for a permanent full time team member.


This role offers excellent opportunity for you to develop and enhance your healthcare skills and experience within palliative and end of life care, working within our Inpatient Unit.


  • Full time position of 37.5 hours to be worked flexibly including weekends, bank holidays, evenings/nights
  • Salary £20,270 to £21,318 (FTE) a year
  • Band 2 Agenda for Change pay scheme (Pay Award Pending)
  • Permanent contract

About the role:


You will deliver high quality Specialist Palliative and End of Life care as part of the Inpatient Unit multidisciplinary team, under the direction of the designated nursing team.


You will support the assessment, planning and evaluation of individualised patient centered care, ensuring a holistic approach that is sensitive and responsive to the patients' ever-changing needs, maintaining the patient's comfort, dignity and privacy at all times.

You will ensure all aspects of the care provided are provided in accordance with Mountbatten's Values and Care Standards.


About you:

You will ideally be qualified to Level 2 Health and Social Care Certificate and have previous care experience.

The role will be part of a dedicated team of professionals, who will also be able to work under their own initiative to ensure the highest standard of care.

A can-do attitude with strong communication skills will be required.
