We have an exciting opportunity for a caring, kind and confident Healthcare Support Worker to join a small multi-disciplinary team in our Rapid Diagnosis Clinic (RDC) within Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.


The RDC is for patients with vague but concerning symptoms which do not fit into any of the existing referral pathways for suspected cancer.

The RDC provides rapid investigations and personalised assessment with the aim of achieving a quick diagnosis and treatment plan or reassurance that nothing concerning has been found.


Applicants for this post are invited from people who have excellent communication skills, are personable and can easily build a rapport with people.


To do everything possible to welcome, ensure comfort, dignity and safety of patients, carers and relatives who attend the RDC.


To assist the RDC multi-disciplinary team to deliver a high-quality person-centred care under guidance and supervision of the registered practitioner.

To undertake Healthcare Support Worker duties as required by the RDC.

To undertake non-nursing duties and clerical duties as required in the RDC.

You will be required to adhere to 'The Code of Conduct for Health Care Support Workers in Wales'.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
