- Overseeing strategic delivery partnerships and frameworks owned by the Highways Service, managing day-to-day operations of the Professional Services Partnership.
- Supervising the business support team within the Professional Services function.
- Developing and executing a resourcing strategy to handle short- and long-term workloads for our Professional Services Service.
- Creating contractual documentation for services and projects that align with planned procurement routes and comply with council governance processes.
- Collaborating with the Head of Professional Services to establish a sustainable model for internally delivered professional services, maximizing value for money through a skilled internal workforce supported by external suppliers.
- Relevant professional qualifications along with extensive experience in a similar environment or a strong background in procuring and managing complex construction and professional services contracts.
- Significant experience with NEC contracts, contract law, and procurement regulations related to construction and professional services.
- Proven track record of managing long-term contracts and relationships, leveraging service data to set ambitious targets and monitor performance.
- Ability to negotiate with key stakeholders, professionals, and businesses to establish collaborative solutions.
- High self-awareness and excellent interpersonal skills for building strategic relationships in a dynamic environment.

Professional Services Partnering Manager
At Derbyshire, we have been evolving our approach to delivering highway services to ensure they are future-proof and enable us to invest wisely in our network. As we roll out our new structure, there is an exciting opportunity within our Highways Professional Services Service.
In Professional Services, we handle design and project management tasks for the highways team and broader Place directorate. We have recently established a long-term strategic partnership, making this role crucial in maximizing the benefits of our diverse service model.
The selected candidate will oversee our engagement with extensive frameworks for consultancy and construction, in addition to supporting the management of our internal resources and professional services pipeline. Reporting to the Head of Professional Services, they will guarantee that the Highways Service and the wider Place directorate have access to a reliable and cost-effective supply chain.
