Job Function/Purpose:

To machine test pieces for testing in the Laboratory

Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm

Principal Responsibilities:

To follow Work Instructions in order to machine Tensile and Impact specimens in accordance with testing standards.
To operate and program a variety of machines in order to produce Lab samples : CNC Lathe, Milling machine, Saw, Automated Grinder and, specialized Blacks CMM Charpy Machine.
To Cut, Mil, Grind, etc. any other Lab samples that may be required by the Laboratory.
To maintain the tight tolerances and high quality required of test piece machining.
To prioritize machining of test pieces by reference to customer requirements and due dates.
To work on own initiative in order to complete assigned workload.
To maintain housekeeping standards within the department.
Take a responsible approach to health, safety, and environmental risks in relation to your own job role and to control the risks or report them to management as appropriate.
Fulfil training programs deemed necessary to allow efficient performance of duties and assist in your personal development.
