    We have a fantastic
    opportunity for a Trainee Gardener to work in our dynamic team at The Belfry,
    England's leading Hotel and Resort. We have 320 bedrooms, 2 Rosette standard
    dining, five food and beverage outlets, fantastic leisure facilities including
    our 20 treatment rooms & pool and of course, what we are famous We have had a really exciting year already at
    The Belfry, starting with hosting The British Masters in August 2024, and
    continuing with the launch of new training and development opportunities and
    incentives.

    The Belfry is
    synonymous with golf and has hosted the Ryder Cup four times – more than any
    other venue in the world. Our world class golf courses have produced some of
    the most dramatic moments in the history of the sport. They attract players
    from the UK and beyond looking to relive the Ryder Cup magic, improve their
    game, and to make use of the unrivalled state-of-the-art golfing facilities.

    Salary

    The on-target
    earning potential for this role is £23, £24,960.00, compromising of a
    base salary of £22, £23,795.00 plus a qualified estimate of £1165.00
    gratuities per annum

    About the role

    As a trainee
    gardener, your role would be to undertake general garden and landscape
    maintenance daily under the management of the Head Gardener, ensuring that the
    site is well-kept throughout the golfing season. Although we do try to give all
    out employees a good work-life balance you may be required to work some
    evenings and weekends in this role. Duties include:

    ·
    Maintaining the courses to Belfry brand standards

    ·
    Undertaking regular strimming and Flymo duties on a regular basis:
    you'll be required to operate the relevant machinery in line with Health and
    Safety standards

    ·
    Undertaking general mowing duties on a daily basis once competent
    including Greens, Tees, Fairways, Rough and Semi-Rough areas to the required
    standards

    ·
    Ensuring fantastic customer service when in contact with guests around
    the resort

    About You

    Our Greenkeeping
    team is a group of friendly and hardworking individuals with a passion for what
    they do and an ability to work individually and as a team. We are looking for
    someone who will fit in with the culture. No formal training or experience is
    required for this role although the following may be useful:

    An interest in gardening

    An interest in golf

    Experience in horticulture or landscaping

    Previous greenkeeping experience
