Description

You will provide teaching cover, with a particular focus on logic, for Dr Daniel Hill and for Dr Stephen McLeod while they are working on the research project 'Entrapment, Criminal Justice, and Ethics¿.

That project, and this post, are funded by the Leverhulme Trust.

You will teach formal and informal logic, and will probably contribute to teaching in one or more further subdisciplines of philosophy, all at undergraduate level.

The teaching will include lecturing, providing seminars etc., and some module co-ordination.

Various other duties relating to teaching and administration, and commensurate with the part-time nature of the post, are likely to be required.

You must hold a Ph.
D. either in logic or in any area of analytic philosophy.

As a strict condition on the post¿s funding, the appointee must not be engaged in, and must not embark upon, study towards a research degree.

This post is fixed term and is available from 25 September 2023 until 24 September 2026.


Any applicants who are still awaiting their PhD to be awarded should be aware that if successful, they will be appointed at grade 6, spine point 30.

Upon written confirmation that they have been successful in being awarded their PhD, they will be moved onto grade 7, spine point 31 from the date of their award.
