Description
The post-holder will work within the mental health based within HMP Styal in Wilmslow.

The team has a multidisciplinary approach, and we provide both primary and secondary care to the women in HMP Styal.


The post holder will be a positive role model to prisoners accessing the service and will play an active role in the multidisciplinary team.


The role will focus on support with general health and will support prisoners with involvement and participation in their care and focus on completing annual health checks and supporting group work.


Working hours are predominantly Monday to Friday 9 To manage clinics to monitor physical health needs, facilitating bloods clinics, ECG and completing physical observations.


  • Assess and supports people with a common mental health problem in the selfmanagement of their recovery.
  • Undertake patientcentred interviews which identifies areas where the person wishes to see change and, or, recovery and make an accurate assessment of risk to self and others
  • Provide a range of information and support for evidence based highvolume lowintensity psychological treatments. This may include guided selfhelp, information about pharmacological treatments. This work will be face to face.
  • Adhere to an agreed plan of clinical activity relating to the overall number of client contacts offered, and clinical sessions carried out per week in order to minimise waiting times and ensure treatment delivery remains accessible and convenient.
  • Complete all relevant training identified required in facilitating physical health clinics, including NEWS2 and phlebotomy training.
  • Keep clinical records of all patient related activity in line with service protocols and use these records and clinical outcome data in clinical decision making.
