About the Company:

Northern Ventilation Services Ltd manufactures and installs commercial ventilation ductwork systems across the UK.

Northern Ventilation Services Limited has been running for 23 years.

Our manufacturing base is at Killingworth where we produce ductwork and other sheet metal projects.

We are looking for 3 ductwork manufacturer / installer


Working week:

Monday - Thursday: 7:30am pm

Friday: 7:30am to 13:30pm

Total hours per week: 38


Expected apprenticeship duration:

42 Months


Planned start date:

January 2023


Apprenticeship level:

Advanced Level 3


What does the job role involve?


The post will include a combination of: fabricating ductwork at our workshop using a range of sheet metal processing techniques, working on site - regionally / nationally - and installing ductwork systems.


  • Cutting, forming, shaping, welding, fixing and dressing various thicknesses of sheet metal.
  • Operationof various machinery.
  • Selection of correct materials to be processed.
  • Attending site to install ductwork systems into commercial buildings
  • Reading and following engineering drawings.
  • Using manual tools.
  • Observing Health and Safety requirements

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?


As well as gaining a broad range of professional knowledge and experience, you will gain academic and vocational qualifications such as the Engineering Fitters Apprenticeship Standard.
