Business Design Lead - Change - Counter Terrorism Policing HQ


Salary:
The starting salary is £57,301, which includes allowances totalling £2,841.


The salary is broken down as £54,460 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £66,356 Plus, a location allowance of £1,841 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

Central to this is our Business Design practice who combine strategy, organisation design, and management consulting expertise to help define the future shape of CTP and drive transformational change.

What is the job role and purpose?


As a Business Design Lead you'll leverage new technologies, varied datasets, and specialist operational knowledge to undertake detailed analyses and develop evidence based solutions to some of CTP's most complex challenges.


You will take a leading role in the development of the CTP Business Design Team, supporting your colleagues in harnessing and developing best practise, and consulting with the CTP Network to identify the right way to tackle problem solving opportunities.


You'll collaborate and build relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders from across the public sector, playing a pivotal role in reacting and reshaping the country's CT approach.


Where will you fit in the design team structure?
The Business Design practice has three levels of experience
, with a focus on development and career progression.


You will take on the role of the Business Design Lead, leading teams of Business Design Analysts and Junior Business Design Analysts.

What will be your key roles and responsibilities?

  • Lead on the definition of organisation problems using quantitative and qualitative analytical techniques, driving diagnostic and solution identification activity within a multidisciplinary project team.
  • Design and assure appropriate solutions to business challenges and determine the impact on CTP's operating model.
  • Manage senior stakeholders and translate complex organisational problems and solutions into simple compelling narratives that achieve broad business consensus.
  • Develop and manage commercial relationships to ensure that contractor resource can be leveraged to meet the demands of CTP change demand.
  • Lead on maturing the business design practice, expanding your own and others' skillsets, providing assurance, and developing new approaches.
  • Task manage teams of resources on projects and programmers.
  • Line Manage Business Design Analysis and Junior Business Design Analysts

Who will the role holder need to work closely with?

  • The Business Design Team, participating in team knowledge sharing and contributing to the development of the Business Design offering within CTPHQ.
  • Officers and Staff across the CTP Network, to gain an understanding of their operational requirements, challenges and opportunities. You will sustain and manage this group as key stakeholders, building relationships and ensuring buy in to the design.
  • Programme and Project Teams to ensure that Business Design Activity is fully understood and incorporated into the Project Plan and activities.
  • Other members of staff within the CTPHQ Change Pillar, particularly in the Project and Programme Management, Business Change and Benefits teams, to ensure design activity is feeding the shape of the project and key activities.
  • Strategy and Performance colleagues to identify the drivers for organisational change, and to gain appropriate management information to identify and evidence the need for change.
