We are recruiting on behalf of our client who is looking for a Grounds Maintenance Operative in Glasgow.


Successful applicants must have a full clean UK driving licence, be able to pass a PVG check, as well as have basic knowledge of gardening/horticulture operations, general experience of grounds maintenance duties, experience in operating light plant equipment/wheeled tractors, and experience of horticulture operations such as planting/pruning/seeding.


You must also have these technical competencies:

  • Understanding of Health and Safety Legislation
  • COSHH
  • 12D RTM Operative (Mod T1/T2)
  • Card Sector Scheme 12D
  • CAT Scanner (Highways)
  • Chainsaw Wind Blown Trees (CS34)
  • CS30/CS31 Chainsaw Maint/Cross Cut
  • Environmental Awareness Tool Box Talk
  • Personal Highways Safety
  • PA1/PA6 (Pesticides)
  • PA2 Ground Crop Spraying
  • Ride on Cylinder Mower
  • Strimmer and Clearing Saw
  • Tractor and Side Arm Flail
  • Woodchipper Operator
  • Ladder Use

Duties of the role include:

  • General maintenance, e.g., grass cutting, hedge trimming, clearing leaves/litter, verges
  • Construction work if required, e.g., walling, flagging, kerbing rockeries, play areas, etc
  • Erecting/dismantling equipment
  • Horticulture activities, e.g., planting, pruning, and seeding
  • Setting out, making sports pitches including grass, tarmac, sports hall surfaces
  • Maintaining the upkeep of artificial/synthetic pitches
  • Managing tree care/arboriculture
  • Painting sundry equipment
  • Managing drainage works
  • Operating light plant/power tools
  • Undertaking vehicles such as tractors, cutting equipment
  • Any other relevant duties as required
This position is a temporary role contracted until October 2023, working 41hrs per week, paying £10.50ph.

Full-time, Temporary contract

Contract length: 2 months


Salary:
£10.50 per hour


Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday

  • Glasgow, Glasgow: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
