Production Manager Opportunity - Midlands Based


Are you a seasoned Production Manager with a passion for precision fabrications, sheet metalwork, and machined parts? My client, a leading Midlands-based company serving the UK and Europe, is on the lookout for an exceptional individual to lead our production team.

This client specializes in precision fabrications, sheet metalwork, and machined parts.

As they continue to grow, they are seeking a proactive and hands-on Production Manager to drive efficiency, enhance productivity, and lead our talented team.


Role Overview:
As the Production Manager, you will be the driving force behind our shop floor operations. We're looking for a pragmatic organizer, a dynamic progress chaser, and a motivational leader.

Your role involves utilizing Management Information for informed decision-making, fostering a culture of productivity, and developing the capabilities of our dedicated team.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Deliver projects to deadlines
  • Prepare jobs for production, maximizing efficiency
  • Run improvement projects for manufacturing profitability and shop floor performance
  • Assess project and resource/recruitment requirements
  • Performance manage and develop the shop floor team
  • Liaise with HR on employment law and employee relations matters
  • Oversee and control annual leave for shop floor staff
  • Ensure quality control and meet health and safety regulations
  • Attend Production Optimization Team meetings and Leadership team meetings

Key Performance Indicators:


  • Manufacturing Project Profit: Minimize costs while driving team and machine performance.
  • Builds completed on time: Meet project deadlines to drive invoiced revenue.
  • Product Quality: Achieve signoff at each stage with less than 5% rework.
  • Machine Uptime & Productivity: Maintain machine uptime of at least 90%.
  • Team Utilization & Productivity: Ensure teams are 90% utilized for client work.
  • Team Performance: Coach, develop, and encourage the team for optimal performance.
