We are looking for an experienced
ESOL Tutor to join our Northamptonshire Team You will be delivering accredited ESOL qualifications and enhancing your learner's journey with Workpays by also providing exciting learning opportunities through the delivery of accredited Employability qualifications, Functional Skills qualifications, Vocational qualifications and Essential Digital Skills.


ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) qualifications are designed to help learners to develop English skills and build confidence in using English in everyday life, education, and employment.

Your learners will be aged 19+.

This is predominantly a classroom-based role at our Kettering centre, with staff parking available on site.

Occasionally the role may require delivery from a pop-up centre local to Northamptonshire and therefore the ability to drive and use of a vehicle is essential.


Key Responsibilities

Tutor:


  • Carry out initial and diagnostic assessment to inform high quality, innovative delivery, which challenges and inspires learners and includes clear objectives, involving learners in the planning, review, and evaluation process
  • Deliver effective and highquality provision across a range of ability groups (Entry
  • Level 2) to meet all relevant academic and funding criteria and which enables learners to meet their personal learning goals
  • Continuously monitor course effectiveness and assess learner development through individual learning plans to inform teaching strategies which ensure learner and programme success
  • Deliver general advice and guidance with reference to progression, preprogramme information, including specification of programme entry criteria
  • Produce and/or tailor relevant and motivational teaching materials, undertaking necessary research in order to deliver programmes to fulfil the needs of the learners
  • Ensure all administrative procedures are kept up to date prior to, during and after the programme (i.e., keeping a register, marking work, monitoring absence, completing funding documentation) to ensure all compliance and quality procedures and funding requirements are met
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings, standardisation meetings and IQA activity as required

General:


  • Maintain an awareness of and actively follow and promote Company policies, including, but not limited to, Safer Recruitment, Data Protection, Information Security, Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety, Safeguarding, and Prevent
  • Undertake any training as required by Company policy and take responsibility for professional development
  • Other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager

Essential criteria

  • Previous experience of teaching English to speakers of other languages
  • Preview experience of delivering engaging and meaningful learning activities and training workshops within an employment and skills sector
  • Teaching qualification (CTLLS, PTLLS, AET, PGCE)
  • Maths and English qualifications at GCSE C/Grade 4 or Functional Skills Level
  • Full UK Driving Licence and access to vehicle
  • Fluent in the English language
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Highlevel communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • IT proficient with an ability to use Microsoft Office suite, particularly Outlook, Teams, Excel, SharePoint, Word, and PowerPoint

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience delivering Functional Skills from Entry Level 1 through to Level
  • Experience meeting challenging contractual Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets
  • Knowledge and understanding of the local labour market, sector skills gaps, local employment & skills provision, specialist support networks, and education & training providers
