Due to expansion of the Older Peoples Mental Health Services in West London NHS Trust, we have vacancies in consultant positions across our inpatient and community services.
West London NHS Trust is one of the most diverse providers of mental health, community and social care in the UK. Our 3,982 staff care for people in hospital and in the community, helping them to recover and go on to lead full and productive lives. We aim to be the best organisation of our kind in the country.
We provide care and treatment for more than 800,000 people living in the London boroughs of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow, delivering services in the community (at home, in GP surgeries and care homes), hospital, specialist clinics and forensic (secure) units.
We are rated good overall by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
The Older Persons Mental Health Service (OPMHS) encompasses a specialist service for patients with complex, severe and enduring functional mental illness over age 70 (SOAMHS) as well as the Cognitive Impairment and Dementia service (CIDS) which offers an ageless assessment and management services for people with cognitive impairment and primary dementias, including both diagnosis and management of BPSD. Where patients with a severe and enduring mental illness develop a dementia, they will be jointly managed to offer a holistic care and management plan. The service also provides support to patients in residential or nursing care.
We are looking for a colleague with experience of working with older adults who is an excellent clinician, enthusiastic leader and mentor and who is passionate about continuous service improvement. You should have good communication and interpersonal skills, a commitment to community care for older people, and be able to demonstrate an ability to work effectively and flexibly with a multi professional team.
