Sales Ledger Clerk | Shrewsbury-area | £23000 per annum | Permanent

The organisation
A Shropshire-based manufacturing and distribution business, with a European presence and established for 35 years.


The opportunity
We are looking for an ambitious individual to join the business's finance team where you will be:

  • Matching the cash and booking bank statements.
  • Viewing customer accounts and cleaning up all open entries.
  • Allocating the sales ledger and posting the bank journal entry.
  • Booking refunds in the ERP package.
  • The daily reconciliation of all outstanding items and the booking of bank costs.
  • Processing the payment batches provided by the payment provider.
  • Matching the outstanding items at customer level and checking any customer satisfaction in this regard.
  • Booking the direct debits.
  • Importing the bank and credit card statements.
  • Posting bad debts and adding them to template.
  • Processing personnel costs.
  • Generating other incoming invoices.
  • Posting all nettings of customer and supplier accounts.

The individual
Ideally you will be working towards a formal accounting qualification, and will bring some prior finance experience. Own transport is required owing to the business's rural location.
