Autism Teaching Assistant - Croydon Autism Specialist School **
Full-Time, ASAP Start, Temp to Permanent

£80 - £100 PAYE, Weekly Payment

Parker Smith Inclusion is recruiting a passionate and personable Autism Teaching Assistant to join a brand new Autism specialist school in Croydon, South East London.

This position is to start immediately on a full-time (term time only) basis.

About the school

A brand new Autism specialist primary school
A school for pupils with Autism/ASC and Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD, SLD)
Strong leadership
Providing sensory stimulating activities and a personalised curriculum
Providing a safe and creative learning environment for pupils
Taking their staff's wellbeing seriously
Easily accessible via public transport (both underground and overground)
Free parking on site

About the role

Providing 1:1 support within the classroom setting
Literacy and Numeracy support
Building a good relationship with the child you are working with
Interacting with children through playbased and sensoryrelated activities
Assisting the class teacher with planning, preparing, and delivering learning activities as well as monitoring and assessing children's achievement and progress
Managing behavioural challenges
Working closely with a multidisciplinary team including Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists.

About you

Has experience working with children and young people with Autism/ASC
Has personal interests in supporting children and young people with SEND/Autism/ASC
A positive, proactive, and patient individual who has a cando attitude and is willing to learn
A team player and has great communication skills
Being able to build good working relationships with students and staff
