Position Summary


We are currently recruiting for a talented individual to join us, as a Factory Controller at our Princes Gate Factory in Narberth, Wales.

This is an amazing opportunity where you will play an important role, acting as a trusted Business Partner to the Factory Manager and to the Factory Leadership Team.

You will be using your financial insight and leadership competencies to actively develop factory strategy to achieve Princes Gate's Factory's ambition.


A day in the life of a Factory Controller


As a Factory Controller for the Princes Gate Factory, you will play a pivotal role in being responsible for all financial matters and provide fact-based decision making on both short-term objectives and on long term strategic initiatives.

You will provide visibility and forecasts around costs related to the factory processes through the driving of relevant analysis and reporting (monitoring of the forecast and controlling the variances), ensuring compliance to financial legal requirements and Nestlé Accounting Standards.


As a Factory Controller, you will be an active member of the Factory Leadership team and work with the operational controller team for category who takes ownership and responsibility for executing OMP activities to drive cost optimisation, but also key strategic activities, which can fall outside traditional functional boundaries.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the development of Factory strategy to optimise conversion cost per ton
  • Continuous improvement, identifying and driving cost improvement opportunities.
  • Reporting and Analytics managing factory reporting of forecast and actuals
  • Leading strategic financial analysis relating to major or strategic decisions
  • Driving business planning and managing the overall factory budget
  • Develop, control and ensure robust evaluations of capital investment plans and requests
  • Ensuring master data accuracy
  • Develop and coach factory personnel on functional topics
  • Compliance and full accountability of the balance sheet for the factory

To be successful in this role you will be a financial expert, being professionally qualified or having gained strong functional experience, and ideally having some experience within a similar role.

You will be passionate, tenacious; results focused and enjoy working in a highly energetic and exciting environment. You will need to be highly organised, conscientious and a team player. Pro-activity and enthusiasm are essential elements for this role as is proven leadership capability and creative thinking. Finally, you will need the ability to be flexible when prioritising work in an environment that is often ambiguous.


You'll also:

  • Have the ability to influence at senior levels both within the factory and with a wide range of business stakeholders
  • Demonstrate strong presentation skills, targeting a wide audience from again internal and external to the factory site
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills at all levels
  • Experience in successfully coordinating and participating in cross functional team
