Social Media Officer


We are seeking a Social Media Officer with a passion for developing and writing engaging social media posts across multiple platforms, to work with a youth social action charity.


Position:
Senior Social Media and Content Officer


Hours: 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday


Salary:
£28,000-30,000 per annum, dependent on experience

About the role:


Working as part of a 2 person Marketing team, you will be focused on creating social media and internal/external content to grow the charity's brand, engage a diverse audience, recruit more young people, and encourage the wider 'community of supporters'to make a financial donation.

You will also support the management of responses and questions/comments from all audiences.


Key responsibilities include:


Social media

  • Deliver and constantly update the overall social content strategy and channel strategy (central focus on Instagram; growth potential: TikTok, other channels: LinkedIN, Twitter, Facebook & YouTube)
  • Write copy and build, produce, edit and post photography, graphics and video
  • Drive social media partnerships with likeminded organisations and influencers
  • Monitor performance and create end of month reports to inform content strategy
  • Conduct research and audience + competitor analysis every quarter
  • Ensure website content is up to date, fresh and relevant
  • Lead on content creation for our blog and news sections
  • Produce and send monthly internal newsletter and quarterly external newsletters.
  • Maintain mailing lists on MailChimp

About you:


Other key skills and experience include:

  • Development and hands-on implementation of digital marketing and design (essential)
  • Designing and creating graphic imagery and video content using Photoshop, InDesign and Canva
  • Dependable, flexible, and peopleoriented
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills with an ability to engage with a wide range of audiences
  • Strong organisational and project management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
