We are offering a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic and innovative experienced Clinical Scientist to join our dedicated senior scientific management team at Synnovis Genomics laboratory, part of the South East Genomic Laboratory Hub (SEGLH) based at Guy's Hospital.
The postholder will support the management of one of the largest Prenatal and Reproductive Genomics services in the UK which includes the pan-London QF-PCR rapid aneuploidy testing service in addition to the full range of cytogenomic techniques.

Dependent on experience, the postholder will be expected to interpret and authorize complex reports from a range of techniques produced by the Prenatal Team but also spanning other areas of the service.
The postholder will manage staff within the team in order to deliver high quality genomics tests and support the development of the service.
Clinical Service Provision:
To provide high level expertise in the assignment, analysis, interpretation, reporting and authorising of cytogenomic tests and reports.
Provide advice to scientists and clinicians on best practice, patient diagnosis and prognosis
Research and Development:
To participate in national and international meetings
Operational Management:
To participate in the planning and delivery of a high quality and efficient service. To deputise for the Operational Lead in their absence.
To contribute to the development and delivery of a clear operational plan, achieving r elevant quality and safety standards, reporting times and activity levels within budget.
To support the Operational Lead in ensuring that relevant operating procedures are compliant with ISO 15189 guidelines and that national / best practice standards are met.
To be responsible for HR management, including recruitment and appraisals of relevant staff.
To take an active role in quality management, both internal and external, and training and education, in collaboration with other key members of these teams.
SEGLH is one of seven hubs that are commissioned to provide genomics services within England and is itself responsible for delivering genomic testing across South East England with a population of approximately 8.4 million.
The SEGLH is led by the Synnovis Genomics laboratory based at Guy's & St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust and is made up of a consortium of laboratory providers in the South London, Kent, Surrey and Sussex region.
Synnovis is a pathology partnership between SYNLAB UK and Ireland, and the NHS, including sites, Guy's & St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust and King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, to deliver and transform pathology services across South East London.
Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital Foundation Trust is a major emergency and specialist teaching Trust. The post holder will be responsible for issuing diagnostic clinical reports in a number of cytogenomic service areas, which may include QF-PCR, G-banded chromosome analysis, chromosome breakage studies, fluorescence in situ hybridisation and microarray.
They will be responsible for ensuring service work is carried out to a high standard and reports are issued within clinically relevant turnaround times.
As a member of the Prenatal and Reproductive Genomics management team, consisting of both scientific and technical leads, the post holder will assist the Operational Lead, deputise in their absence and have overall responsibility for the day to day management of specific service areas.
They will manage a team of Clinical Scientists, overseeing the training and development for these staff and help to oversee the management of the technical team in partnership with laboratory technical leads.
