An opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 Nurse Associate to join our friendly and supportive Vascular Team. We are looking for an enthusiastic practitioner to co-ordinate, run and participate in our daily Vascular Emergency Clinic. You will be working alongside the Vascular Medical Team and part of the Vascular Nursing Team. Vascular surgical experience in a comparable role is desirable.

Co-ordination and organisation of daily Vascular Emergency Clinic. Undertake Vascular assessments, blood taking, wound dressing and ensure appropriate follow-up in a timely manner.

We are also proud to host the Defence Medical Group South East at Frimley Park with military surgical, medical, and nursing personnel working alongside the hospital's NHS staff providing care to patients in all specialties.


  • Undertake clinical tasks relevant to role, these will include supporting inpatient areas, and clinics, as well as any other clinics that evolve within the service.
  • Be familiar with the protocols and pathways for vascular disease and referral processes.
  • Undertake nurse led activity in line within agreed protocols using autonomous practice and decisionmaking in every aspect of the post, whilst working as part of the multidisciplinary team. This will include coordinating the Emergency Clinic Service.
  • Liaise with Specialist Vascular Nurse and medical staff to discuss and review action plans for individual patients.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, database and ensure all relevant information is documented in the patients' medical notes.
  • Recognise signs and symptoms of sepsis and importance of immediate treatment and interventions.
  • Provide general information and support to patients undergoing assessment and treatment of peripheral vascular disease within ESHT.
  • Provide basic telephone advice and refer on or signpost to other sources of support.
  • Proactively identify patient and carer needs to ensure that people get the right support to meet their needs.
  • Make visits to clinical areas as required.
  • Support people to accesss appropriate information and support, by signposting to a range of support services and take an approach which helps people to selfmanage where appropriate.
  • Carry out appropriate administration duties required by the role.
  • Demonstrate an awareness of the limits of own practice and knowledge and when to seek appropriate support / advice.
  • Recognise when patients are anxious, in pain or discomfort and require support from a registered nurse.
  • Communicate to a high standard with patients and their families / carers providing appropriate support, relevant information and education to facilitate decisionmaking and the development of coping strategies.
  • Demonstrate good understanding of principles of consent and ensure valid consent is obtained prior to undertaking care procedures.
  • Understands when to seek appropriate advice to manage a risk and avoid compromising quality of care and health outcomes acting in line with local and national organisational frameworks, legislation and regulations to report risks, and implement actions as instructed.
