Payment Analyst
We are seeking a graduate with some banking experience who wants to progress

Main purpose of job

  • Process all types of payments
  • Answer payment related queries
  • Be the goto person for data and processes on the monitoring and reporting activities at the departmental level.
  • Develop, test and implement account monitoring models.
  • Work closely with the first and second line of defence to achieve risk management and mitigation goals.
  • Support to achieve and maintain compliance at the account level.
  • Raise concerns, investigate alerts and update systems for effective controls.
  • Promote best practice, develop and enhance account level compliance frameworks, systems and controls.
Key result areas/KPI

  • Quality and accuracy of payments processed
  • Quality of the reports on SAR, account level activity
  • Complete quality assurance checks on processes, SARs,
  • Determine appropriate quality benchmarks, develop a rigorous account level testing models to establish standards.
Key responsibilities / accountabilities

  • Process payments with accuracy and speed
  • Sample sizable and representative transactions from each sector, i.e. retail, corporate, financial institute, money service business to determine the purpose, information, amount are sufficient and within the regulatory requirements
  • Provide written reports on suspicious activities, breaches, concerns, developments, enhancements and remedies as appropriate.
  • Support development of account level compliance policies in line with industry guidance and regulations.
Person specification

  • Understanding of payments, related risk and refining the processes as the business evolves
  • Good reporting skills
  • Knowledge of payment types, service providers, schemes along with SWIFT, CHAPS and Faster Payments.
  • Knowledge of the payment's legislation and directives
  • Proficient in MS Office suite, particularly Excel
