Description

The Credit Portfolio Officer is a senior-level position responsible for leading activities including credit review, credit approvals and monitoring the portfolio to identify credit migration in coordination with the Risk Management team.

The overall objectiveof this role is to manage Citi's portfolio exposure to client and counterparties.

This is a London based role in the EMEA Citi Global Wealth (CGW) business that has a sizeable credit portfolio, across four booking centres.

The High Net Worth (HNW) and the Ultra HNW businesses are going through a significant geographic expansion with plansunderway to launch new products.

The role reports to the EMEA Regional Risk Head for CGW.


Responsibilities:


  • Monitor and assess the EMEA Ultra High Net Worth and High Net Worth portfolios on a regular basis and review transactions for this client segment.
  • Provide review and challenge to the Business, as appropriate, in relation to client selection, transactions, portfolio risk, etc.
  • Review reputational risk as it relates to new and existing clients.
  • Review Legal Vehicle and regulatory matters as it pertain to the EMEA portfolio.
  • Lead key business projects and the implementation of initiatives. Monitor policy and target market exceptions.
  • Focus on process improvement and efficiency and work with the Business to effect change.
  • Conduct gap analyses and remediation work for any misalignments relating to policy changes.
  • Ensure significant credit changes are adequately tracked / reported.
  • Provide regular feedback on all initiatives, reviews and report emerging trends and opportunities to senior management
  • Understand applicable credit policies, industry regulations and the requisite impact of those governance items to prospective new partners or product initiatives
  • Establish and leverage crossfunctional partnerships and network with key internal and external constituencies
  • Prepare risk management presentations for senior management that include analytics on expected portfolio performance and areas of potential risk and/or opportunity
  • Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
  • Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
  • Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.

Knowledge / Experience:


  • Credit experience in a multinational bank, preferably in private banking is required.
  • Strong accounting, financial, analytical and credit skills.
  • Knowledge of Margin Lending, Capital Markets, Art financing and other private banking products preferred.
  • MS Office software proficiency required.
  • Proven ability to remain organized in a fastpaced environment.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, organizational and analytic skills.
  • Strong written / verbal communication, presentation, negotiation and strategic skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to view data holistically and remain detail oriented to synthesize, prioritize and deliver results with urgency.
  • Proven ability to obtain support and buyin across a wide range of internal and external audiences.
  • Demonstrated work ethic.
