Birmingham has a portfolio of circa 60,000 social housing units and this is your opportunity to play a part in looking after the maintenance, investment and safety of these properties . The role within "heating" plays an important part of our residents' lives and their homes and will include being a part of implementing innovative solution to assist with the City's ambitious route to zero targets alongside the work of contractors.
We are looking for someone with experience of property management and maintenance and looking to utilise skills in the field of decarbonisation. Ideally with a background in electrical and or gas. Knowledge of building regulations, safety issues, and relevant codes of practice is expected. Good communication and team-working skills are important, and you should also have the ability to use Microsoft Office to prepare correspondence and reports.

You will look after and be responsible for:
- District heating including the heat interface units, heat meters, prepayment meters and commercial plant
- Air source heating
- Ground source heating
- Solar PV and Battery storage
You must be willing to learn and adapt to new technology as on the job training will be undertaken as well as study based remote learning and face to face courses held outside of Birmingham.
