    About the Role:

    We are looking for a dedicated and caring SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in Wakefield on a supply basis, specifically working with students on the autism spectrum.

    This role involves assisting ASD students to reach their full potential in an inclusive learning setting.


    Key Responsibilities:
    • Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with autism.
    • Provide personalized support to students, adjusting teaching approaches to suit their needs.
    • Cultivate a welcoming and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
    • Aid students with personal care and social activities as necessary.
    • Collaborate with educators, parents, and other specialists to track and report student progress.
    • Apply effective behavior management techniques to promote students' social and emotional growth.

    Requirements:
    • Prior experience working with children with Special Educational Needs, particularly autism.
    • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent).
    • Demonstrated traits of patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting SEN children.
    • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
    • Capacity to handle challenging behaviors and maintain composure in stressful situations.
    • Flexibility and adaptability to different classroom environments.
