About the team:


The Payments team is an integral part of the Finance Department at OSB Group, responsible for processing a range of internal and external payments through a number of banking systems.

The team work in a fast paced environment, supporting and communicating with various other parts of the business

What you will be doing:


In this role, you will have the opportunity to assist the Group's payment processing and accounts payable facilities within a strong control environment.

This will involve line management for a team and close liaison with the Finance team at the Bank's offshoreservice centre in India.


You will have the opportunity to implement valuable change across The Group through process and project work, whilst managing a varied and fast paced desk within a regarded department.


This is a fixed term contract for 12 months.
Your responsibilities will include

  • Assisting the Payments Manager with the administration of Faster Payments, CHAPs and manual cheque payments for all departments and ensure the correct protocol and procedures are followed at all times, completing all first line authorisation to ensure detailshave been input and recorded correctly.
  • Assisting with queries for the Group's purchase order system, Proactis, preparing weekly metrics reported to senior management.
  • Assisting with reporting on payment practices and performance in line with legislation
  • Line managing and coaching all direct reports, including all aspects of performance management, development, conduct, sickness management, appraisals, employee administration and recruitment.
  • Assisting the Payments Manager on all banking related projects and processes, continually looking to enhance and utilise latest technologies in the group in order to maximise control and payment processing and accounts payable efficiencies.
  • Ensuring key controls within Payments are adequately reviewed, enforced and evidenced and to quarterly test peer departments within a SOX lite framework.

Could you be the one?
We are looking for talented individuals who have the experience and knowledge set out below:

  • Previous experience in a Payments team is essential, within a Financial Services environment is desirable.
  • Previous experience managing staff.
  • Previous experience using Bankline, Barclays.
Net, Proactis and SUN or similar software is advantageous.

  • Strong organisational skills and ability to meet intraday deadlines.
