Management Accountant

£40,000 - £45,000 + Bonus & benefits + hybrid working

Aila is excited to announce that it's in an exclusive partnership with a leading, private equity backed hospitality business that has grown at a phenomenal rate since its inception in 2008.

They have grown rapidly in the last couple of years following an acquisition,and have gone from 7 sites in the Group, to 27 to become a true leader in the industry, but they're not finished yet.

Turnover is c. £300m.

They have an amazing atmosphere both on their sites and head office in Hemel Hempstead, and they're looking to growthe team with an ACCA/CIMA studying Management Accountant.

This is an exciting opportunity for somebody looking to join a multi-site leisure business in a role that involves all aspects of financial and management accounting and providing stakeholders with key financial information.

You'll be working closely with theSenior Financial Accountant and a team of management accountants to produce accurate reporting as well as providing detailed analysis on the financial performance of the business.

You will be a confident and assuring individual looking to move into a business that is constantly evolving and you will be able to bring your knowledge and fresh approach to the accounts function


Key Responsibilities:


  • Support the month end close process by taking ownership of accounting entries such as prepayments and accruals ensuring postings are accurate and timely
  • Support the team to implement a strong culture of balance sheet discipline ensuring reconciliations are carried out regularly and action points are completed
  • Drive strong process improvement across the finance function, identifying areas of weakness and ensuring new processes are adhered to
  • Handle ad hoc queries regarding the management and statutory accounts
  • Assist the P2P (Purchase to pay) team with the clearing down of purchase orders
  • Build strong working relationships across the business, gaining acceptance as a highly collaborative and results oriented professional
  • Maintain high standards of reporting accuracy across the P&L and Balance Sheet to ensure entries are posted correctly and assist the FP&A team with any queries as and when needed
  • Support other business functions with customer related queries ensuring that they are supported with the necessary financial guidance necessary to give guests an amazing experience


To be successful in this role, you will be an ambitious individual with excellent attention to detail, ACCA/CIMA part-qualified and if you have multi-site experience that is a bonus.
