This is a great opportunity to join an established Education Centre set up to help reduce permanent exclusions for primary aged children.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will already be experienced in supporting children's learning from within either a school, sport coaching or other community support environment.
Our client offers help and support to children with behavioural and emotional issues, equipping them with the life skills needed to transition back into mainstream education.
Experience of working to support children's learning, gained in a relevant environment:
NVQ Level 2 or above Teaching Assistant qualification (or recognised equivalent qualification):- Possess a good understanding of or relevant policies and procedures/codes of practice
- Understand principles of child development and learning processes and, barriers to learning
- Understand Safeguarding
- Effective use of ICT to support learning
- Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to relate well to a wide range of people
This role will involve working as part of the Coaching Team, to provide support in addressing the needs of pupils who need help to overcome barriers to learning.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Provide pastoral support to pupils within the centre environment
- Receive and supervise pupils excluded from, or otherwise not working to a normal timetable
- Developing individual's selfesteem, confidence, and resilience as well as basic literacy and numeracy skills
- Deliver lessons in line with agreed lesson plans
- Encourage pupils to interact with each other and engage in activities
- Support provision for pupils with additional needs
- Provide and prepare regular reports, giving feedback on pupil's achievements, progress, or problems etc
Salary/hours:
£16,000 - £20,000K (pro-rata) - depending on experience
Hours of work:
Monday to Friday 8.30am - 3pm - some flexibility will be needed around the hours worked, which will be explained at interview stage.
Working 38 weeks term time only.Benefits:
