Full Time, 35 hours per week, Hybrid

You will be
Head of London and International Casualty.
You will report to the London CEO with matrix relationships to the Active Underwriter / Chief Underwriting Officer in London and the SiriusPoint International Chief Underwriting Officer.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Working across both the management and underwriting of Casualty treaty both the London US XoL and International Treaty books and international Managing General Agent (MGA) business
- Leading and line managing the UK Casualty underwriting team
- Understanding the strategic direction of the company and the part the Casualty business unit should be playing as part of that strategy
- Working collaboratively with the Head of US Casualty and the Group CUO to develop a Casualty strategy across the groups underwriting platforms
- Driving the London and International Casualty strategy in line with Casualty group strategy
- Driving the business planning process and assisting in developing the budget for the business unit
- Managing underwriting results by monitoring production, renewal retention, and other production and quality measures
- Working with our international colleagues to provide product expertise and guidance (pre bind peer review and pricing etc.) for existing business and new opportunities developed
- Negotiating, underwriting, and maintaining a profitable portfolio of business to meet budgetary requirements
- Gathering market data for new markets and products and promoting SiriusPoint Group, SiriusPoint London Branch, and Syndicate 1945 to identify new production opportunities
- Providing reports to committees and management detailing progress and portfolio performance as required
- Analysing insurance proposals gathering and assessing background information to identify the risk involved
- Attending client presentations and market seminars, travelling as required
- Calculating premium in line with SiriusPoint pricing models
- Developing and maintaining constructive and cooperative working relationships with brokers
- Providing leadership, guidance, advice and support to the business unit team. Providing training and mentoring to less experienced team underwriters on market conditions, competitors, relationship management, etc.
- Undertaking Certified Persons (SMCR) duties as required.

Your skills and abilities should include:
- Seasoned Casualty insurance underwriter with strong experience leading a Casualty underwriting unit across the London market. Demonstrated experience building and growing a profitable book of Casualty business
