The role:

Lead Material Supplier:

You will be assigning tasks to a small team, based - on your supervisor's brief.

You will be working flexibly alongside your team members processing materials/tooling to meet the required regulatory standard in a safe, secure, and efficient manner.


What you'll do:


  • Contribute to team briefs and assign tasks as required to meet the daytoday operational performance targets.
  • Coach, develop and provide guidance to your team, supporting completion of their local PER books and relevant training.
  • Ensure good storekeeping practices and quality standards are maintained to a high level at all times.
  • Ensure guidance to the team regarding the safe handling and transportation of materials in line with Dangerous Goods & Road Transportation regulations is available, either through personal knowledge or that of team member(s) (where relevant IATA/ADR course certification / knowledge is held).
  • Responsible for compliance with Health & Safety, environment, and quality legislation.
  • Exercise personal responsibility and reasonable care in preventing harm to yourself and others by ensuring that safe working practices are observed at all times.
  • Support continuous improvement and business process changes.

What you'll bring to British Airways:

  • Ability to understand and deliver to operational targets.
  • Effective verbal & written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to interpret spreadsheets and performance data.
  • IT literate and experienced in the use of SAP.
  • Legislative awareness of quality, health and safety and environment requirements.
  • Understanding of audit & audit functions.
  • Must have the ability to work a shift pattern.

Your experience:


  • Level 2 Qualifications (or equivalent) including Maths and English.
  • Vocational (NVQ) Stores and or Leadership qualifications (desirable).
  • MIA Stamp (desirable).
  • Full UK DVLA Driving Licence, category B for manual transmission (minimum of 12 months driving experience with a full licence).
  • Already hold or ability to obtain an Airside Pass and Airside Driving Permit (with training).
  • Already hold or ability to acquire a Counter Balance forklift licence and additional truck licences (with training).
  • Knowledge of Dangerous Goods and Road Transportation regulations (desirable).
  • Hold IATA/ADR certification relating to Dangerous Goods (desirable).
  • Knowledge of supply chain logistics and Engineering business awareness.
  • Experienced in stores processes and procedures (essential).
