Context:


Robson House PRU is a specialist therapeutic and educational placement for children who cannot attend mainstream school because of social, emotional and mental health needs, or who have been permanently excluded from school.

We work to meet the social, emotional, mental health and academic needs of highly vulnerable children, so that they are able to make accelerated progress and be ready for their next stage in learning.

We provide a stimulating and secure learning environment and aim to give each pupil a positive experience of school.


Role:


We are seeking an experienced teacher to work closely with the Head of School and Executive Headteacher in driving Robson House's vision and to take responsibility for the day-to-day operational management of the provision.


The Deputy Head of School will:

  • ensure that the vision and ethos of Robson House are embedded in the day-to-day running of the school
- provide outstanding leadership and build positive relationships with staff, children and parents
- promote excellence in practice to enable children with SEMH needs to feel safe, flourish and make progress
- oversee the performance management of teaching staff
- share responsibility with the Head of School and Executive Headteacher for evaluating the school's performance in order to sustain high standards


Key Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Substantial experience of working with children across the primary phase
  • Substantial experience of working with children with social, emotional and mental health needs
  • Experience of developing the practice of colleagues
  • Experience of developing wholeschool policy and procedures
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and the National Curriculum
