An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and numerate individual to work as an Accounts Assistant within the Accounts Payable Team based in the Finance Department.
The key characteristic of the Accounts Payable Team is to deliver a high quality service underpinned by professionalism and first class customer care.
As a member of the team you will be responsible for ensuring that suppliers' invoices and credit notes are processed promptly and accurately in accordance with the Trust's Standing Financial Instruction's, internal office procedures and the statutory obligation to ensure compliance with the Better Payment Practice Code (BPPC).
The post has a generic job description and you will be primarily working on the AP team, however you could be asked to work as an accounts assistant on one of our other Financial Accounting teams if needed.
Assist in the payment process by:
Ensuring supplier invoices and credit notes are paid promptly.
Setting up new, and maintaining existing AP supplier accounts.
Checking suppliers' invoices and credit notes, prior to payment, against order documentation and processing in a prompt manner in accordance with the Trust's Standing Financial Instructions, internal procedures and the Better Payment Practice Code (BPPC).
Checking invoices are correctly authorised before entering for payment on the Trust's AP ledger, ensuring all fields are completed and all inputting errors are identified and corrected.
