Full-Time, Fixed Term (2-year contract)

Salary (S5 Grade): £27,793 to £29,150 inclusive of London Weighting with potential to progress to £31,437 per annum inclusive of London Weighting.

The Professional Development Centre (PDC) is looking for a proactive and innovative Internship & Mentoring Assistant to support the Widening Participation Team in helping students in securing summer internship and source new vacancies with local and national employers.

The role also involves supporting the Brunel Professional Mentoring Programme.


The post-holder will take part in a range of employer engagement duties ranging from contacting employers to promote the Widening Participation programme, acting as first point of contacts for employers and students, and all the relevant administrative work relating to the internship and mentoring.

One of the key activities of this role is to ensure that all the records are organised and securely kept.

Other duties would include performing reception and administrative duties to support the department.


You should be passionate about working in a higher education institution and have a broad understanding of the higher education sector.

An understanding of the graduate recruitment market would be an advantage.

Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to liaise with employers effectively is an essential element of the role.

You are expected to have good IT [Excel, Word and Outlook] and social media skills and to be able to make an active contribution to the wider strategy of the PDC and Brunel University London.

You will display a flexible, can-do approach and will be able to work in a variety of settings and across a range of employers from well-known companies to small and medium size employers.
