The role


This role presents the opportunity to be part of a highly entrepreneurial and inspired environment that that is collaborative, fast paced, and always looking toward what is next in publishing.

You'll play an essential role in the smooth running of the department and the fast growth of our digital portfolio as well as providing administrative and editorial support to the divisional MD.

You will be working across the Bloomsbury Digital Resources division including these digital learning resources among others:

Drama Online, Bloomsbury Fashion Central, Screen Studies, Bloomsbury Music and Sound, Theology and Religion Online and Bloomsbury Video Library.


This role is responsible for:

Content and metadata administration:


  • Liaising with Bloomsbury content partners to check files delivered correctly in accordance with the contract; chase missing files if required; ensuring files and file names match agreed specification
  • Creating title lists and metadata spreadsheets, checking them for accuracy against content assets and other data sources
  • Keeping Biblio uptodate as required

Contracts, rights and royalties administration:


  • Contracts, rights and royalties administration for digital products, including creating rights spreadsheets; updating Biblio with rights or royalties; issuing, tracking and chasing contracts

Departmental assistance:


  • Supporting Managing Director, BDR, 20% on average per week
  • Performing tasks supporting digital products, including product testing, content review, writing product copy, and administrative tasks related to pre
- and post-publication content, when necessary

  • Liaising with key stakeholders, both internal and external
  • Editorial administration relating to new digital projects: tracking, reminders, monitoring, liaison with external editorial advisors, and highlighting problem areas for manager intervention

Beneficial but not required:

  • Solid administrative experience
  • Knowledge or experience of academic or digital publishing

Additional information
The role is a full-time permanent position with an annual Salary of £25,000 per annum


The role is based at our London office 50 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3DP on a hybrid-working pattern of 2 days office based / 3 days home based (or fully office based if preferred).


Allocated office days for this role are:
Wednesday and Thursday.
