At Place2Be, we believe every child should have easy access to mental health support. Whenever they need it.
We create a safe place in schools where children can open up without pressure, which enables our counsellors to reach children who need us.
You may have seen some activity around Children's Mental Health Week, the national campaign initiated and led by Place2Be to improve understanding of the importance of supporting children's mental health.
Place2Be are now in our 29th year and are recognised as the UK's leading non-profit provider of mental health support in schools.
The charity currently provides an embedded mental health service in almost 400 UK primary and secondary schools supporting a school community of around 225,000 children and young people.
Through our professional development programme, we are training c1200 Counsellors on Placement each year who build their mental health and counselling skills and experience through practice in our partner schools.
We also provide a range of professional development programmes on mental health and wellbeing for school leaders, teachers and other professionals who work with children and young people, so we can help to build 'mentally healthy' schools and communities where all children can thrive and flourish.
When you work at Place2Be - whether that's in a school, supporting families, providing clinical supervision, or in IT, Finance, or Recruitment - every role can make a difference to the children we are here to support.
We ask our staff team to share our core values of perseverance, integrity, compassion and creativity, and to have the skills and patience to support some of the UK's most vulnerable children and families.
Our People team plays a pivotal role in helping us achieve our vision and we are now seeking a talented Head of People to join us.
Our People strategy focuses on supporting effective leadership, workforce planning, learning and development, inclusion, genuine engagement and the wellbeing of colleagues.
We believe these are key in recruiting, retaining and growing the talent we need to achieve our ambitions.
As Head of People, you will play an important role in implementing this work by leading on Employee Relations, Workforce planning, Systems, Processes and Administration, Payroll, Pensions and Reward and Recognition.
You will lead a small People Partnering and Systems team and work with other team leads to provide day to day leadership of the whole People & Culture function.
You will enjoy working in an organisation that prides itself in connecting, supporting and developing colleagues. You will be an active member of the leadership team and have the opportunity to contribute to wider strategic projects across the organisation.
