This is a great opportunity to come and work in our highly rated secondary school in central Manchester.

You will support our Sencos and other members of the SEND Team to ensure that outcomes for students with additional needs are maximised, and provisions for students with EHCPs have full regard of Preparation for Adulthood.

You will also support members of the SEND Team by liaising with Key Stage 5 providers and supporting the transition of high need learners to appropriate further education routes.

WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU:


  • Experience and an understanding of safeguarding and child protection issues, or be willing to undertake training in these areas;
  • Numeracy and literacy skills at least equivalent to RQF Level 2; good ICT skills are also desirable;
  • Ideally have significant classroom experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar;
  • Experience of working with students who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs;
  • Ability to build positive and professional relationships with students and their parent(s)/carer(s);
  • Have experience and knowledge of working with and contributing to the assessment, planning, production and review process of EHCPs;
  • High level administrative skills and an excellent eye for detail;
  • Be professional, flexible and innovative, with experience of undertaking a wide variety of duties and an ability to deal skillfully with unanticipated situations;
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work well within a team, yet able to demonstrate an ability to work unsupervised utilising their own initiative;
  • Well organised with an adaptable and positive approach to all aspects of the workload;
  • Supportive of the school's excellent staff attendance and punctuality record.
