About you

  • Strong organisation and communication skills
  • Experience in event management, ideally in sport
  • A basic understanding of domestic and international competitive cycling
  • IT literate, including experience in the use of Microsoft Office to an intermediate level.
  • Ability to effectively and manage multiple projects.
  • A good level of general education, preferably degree level or equivalent

What will you be doing?

  • Manage operational delivery of appropriate identified major events and lead functional areas of each major event or series during the planning, setup, delivery, breakdown and closedown phases.
  • Act as a project manager to effectively communicate and coordinate between functional areas to ensure major event or series success.
  • Deliver against organisational aims and those of key stakeholders and effectively translate into objectives for your functional areas.
  • Identify key areas of risk and implement risk controls, raising with your line manager where appropriate. Taking on a lead role on the creation of risk profile documents and event management plans
  • Negotiate and maintain terms with suppliers and contractors to meet service expectations.
  • Manage the delivery of contractors and volunteers and create an engaging team environment during major events.
  • Assist with the strategic programming of major international and major domestic events in Great Britain to promote sustainable growth.
