Description
Our client are a technologies company who create amazing systems for local councils to manage their recycling services.

Their waste, recycling and street cleansing software is used by 1 in 3 UK council waste departments to improve efficiency, safety and customer service, making them the market leader, continually innovating in both technology and services.


  • You would be working alongside the software developers and be mentored by the software testers. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality of the software products and continually improving the testing workflow and processes._
The role includes reviewing specifications and testing materials, executing test plans and completing testing documentation.

_Their _release cycles are shortening, and you will make a significant contribution to product quality through testing and the introduction of new techniques and tools.

Main duties

  • Executing manual and automated software tests
  • Write and review testing documentation
  • Liaise with project staff and developers to resolve issues found
  • Evaluation and implementation of automated test tools
The Person

You will be adaptable and have excellent communication skills.

You will need a logical, careful and consistent approach, with an eye for detail and an uncompromising approach to quality.

You must be self-motivated, working with other testers, software developers and other members of staff to identify problems and find solutions.

Any testing experience would be a benefit but is not essential


You will also need:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • An understanding of how complex digital systems are put together, beyond just simple websites
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Selfmotivation and the ability to work under own initiative and pressure


This role is suitable for flexible working and the team is hybrid-remote, although regular travel to the offices in Barnsley will be essential.

£24,000 to £26,000 depending on experience.
