Based in Liverpool, hybrid working with a minimum of 2 days per week on-site


Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) is a globally recognised centre of excellence, specialising in research that impacts global health.

This role will work collaboratively with a small research group within LSTM, that is focussed on ecology and control of vector-borne disease, and also with colleagues at the Science and Technology Facilities Council.


Key responsibilities include:


Technical responsibilities

  • Work closely with the field team in the UK to ensure empirical results are integrated into model development and analysis
  • Provide efficient and technical advice concerning qualitative aspects of projects to the wider research group where necessary
  • Assist with the development of grant proposals

Data recording:


  • Where appropriate, contribute to the collation and assessment of data from the wider project using appropriate software, including R
  • Prepare written data reports and PowerPoint presentations for line manager and funders
  • Input on initial analysis of data and draft sections of reports and manuscripts for the funders, external collaborators and journal submissions under guidance of the line manager
  • Undergraduate or Postgraduate qualification in Mathematics (or equivalent)
  • Experience of using R software of equivalent
