Head of Tax - Private Client
North London
Up to £100,000 + bonus
Butler Rose public practice are delighted to be supporting our client, a dynamic and high growth multi-disciplinary firm, that are now in a position to appoint a highly experienced individual into the pivot role of Head of Tax to lead the firm's private client (entrepreneurs, non-doms, non-residents, HNWIs) tax department.
Role Requirements -
Reporting directly into the Managing Director, and taking ownership over the tax department you will:
Produce and deliver reports on efficiencies of the tax department.
Set deadlines and ensure KPIs are met for the tax team and wider department.
Lead weekly tax departmental meetings.
Sign off and monitor training programmes for staff members.
Lead staff reviews were appropriate.
Assist with the recruitment of personnel into the tax department.
Engage with clients and prospects over the phone and in person, and answer any tax queries.
Handle new leads and enquiries with a view to signing up new clients.
Manage the returns processes with the firm's 3rd party outsourcing agencies.
Assist the wider tax team with tax return reviews from outsourcing company.
Development, mentorship and growth of junior members of the team
You will be required to write technical taxation reports and tax planning advice.
Manage a small portfolio of 'gold standard' clients with respect to compliance & advice.
Assist the tax leadership team with strategy.
Various ad hoc work as and when it arises.
Person Requirements -
Ideally CTA qualified although those that are ATT and/or significantly qualified by experience will be considered.
Currently or recently working in the capacity of Head of Tax or Senior Manager/Director within the private client tax department of a UK based practice.
Proven managerial experience leading a successful tax teamConfident in developing existing and prospective clients.
