To support the business, specifically the front office, Relationship Managers by acting as a first line of defence, with responsibility for maintaining effective internal controls and for executing risk and control procedures on a day to day basis.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Day to day duties will include conducting Client Due Diligence (CDD) at both onboarding and ongoing review stages under the guidance of Head of Risk & Compliance, involving performance of KYC checks, conducting sanctions and PEP screening, adverse mediascreening and completion of risk assessments;
- Provide general advice to Relationship Managers on KYC/CDD requirements and status of accounts;
- Ad hoc functions relating to KYC including name changes; reopening of accounts, collation of data for ongoing reviews, remediation of existing client files as and when required by regulatory changes;
- Perform and analyse due diligence checks and assess underlying ML/TF/reputational and other KYC risks as part of client on boarding and ensure risks are appropriately considered and mitigated with the relevant stakeholders;
- Undertake and assess adverse news and sanction information as they relate to client on boarding as well as ongoing name screening, ensure issues are raised to the relevant stakeholders;
- Assist the Relationship Managers with client suitability reviews, ensuring all suitability records are updated.
- Review MiFID classification of the client and confirm that the classification is correct in light of the nature of trading activities conducted by the client.
- Prepare various regular management information reports.
- Under the guidance of the CEO and the Head of Risk & Compliance carry out risk, AML and regulatory reviews, investigations and ad hoc activities.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Min. 5 years' experience within the financial sector environment and practical experience of KYC AML processes;
- Experience of conducting customer onboarding at a financial institution, preferably in a private client, wealth management firm;
- Good understanding of UK antimoney laundering requirements and JMLSG;
- Good working knowledge of the Financial Services Industry and familiarity with FCA;
- Understanding of risk and control processes.
- Knowledge and experience of dealing with AML/KYC monitoring and account opening with respect to High Net Worth / Corporate clients from emerging markets and Russia / CIS region / China would be an advantage.
