Due to new funding from the Primary Care Network, this is an exciting opportunity for 2 qualified CYWPs to join us in Sefton CAMHS at Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust.


We are looking for individuals who have skills and experience in engaging families who are from communities that may be at increased risk of social exclusion or marginalisation.

Postholders will work as part of an integrated multi-disciplinary team.

They will work with Primary Care Network whilst also managing a case load of children and young people with mild to moderate mental health problems and deliver low intensity evidence-based interventions alongside or under supervision of senior CAMHS practitioners.


The post holders will be based at Burlington House, Waterloo, with appointments offered from our Waterloo and Southport bases, and virtually.


  • Working as a member of an integrated multidisciplinary team providing comprehensive assessment of children, young people and families. Planning, implementing and evaluating interventions to address identified needs.
  • Acting as case manager for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health problems.
  • Delivering evidencebased interventions in a group format alongside or under supervision of senior CAMHS practitioners.
  • Monitoring risk and supporting children and young people who present with more severe problems to rapidly access assessment and intervention from senior CAMHS practitioners.
  • Promoting the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people.
  • Adhering to Trust policies and procedures and the legislative framework in which children's mental health care is delivered.


Sefton CAMHS comprise of several multi-disciplinary teams including staff from varied backgrounds, including psychology, psychiatry, social work, nursing and psychotherapy.

In addition, our team members are trained in a wealth of different therapeutic interventions and approaches, making the teams truly multi-disciplinary.

This will be paid in two parts, £250 in first month pay on commencement in post, and £750 on completion of six months.

Accommodation

Alder Hey will support the cost of accommodation for up to 3 months from the date of employment (up to £500 per month)

The cost is to be paid by the staff member and reclaimed as expenses.

Relocation package

Main duties and Responsibilities

  • To work with the primary care network to support referrals into the service.
  • To work directly with children, young people and families, supporting the implementation of therapeutic interventions/care
plans formulated by the case manager.

  • To report directly to the CAMHS case manager any problems/issues regarding the implementation of care plans with
- individual children, young people and families.

  • To work in the community, including home visits and through agreed activities to positively improve a young person social and
emotional development.

  • To work flexibly in order to maximise opportunities for engagement of children, young people and families.
  • To develop positive relationships with children, young people and families which actively supports their engagement with
CAMHS.

  • To work in a variety of settings including schools, to allow direct observation and also to support therapeutic interventions.
  • Identify appropriate leisure activities for young people and develop a local knowledge of youth groups and alternative
voluntary projects young people can link with.
