This role is deemed as a Certified role under the PRA and UK Financial Conduct Authority - Individual Accountabilities Regulations and may require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications or the minimum qualifications to meet internal company benchmarks.


As a Barclays Fixed Income Financing Sales Professional you will provide secured financing to institutional clients across a wide range of products including G10 Sovereigns/Supras, Covered bonds, Corporate Credit Bonds, Emerging Market Bonds and, Securitized Products.

As part of a wider Team, the group's primary function is to provide leverage to a well-established financial institutional client franchise by lending cash or securities.

What will you be doing?

  • Providing shortend fixed income coverage to an extensive list of clients including but not limited to, Repo, ECP, MTNs, government bills and deposits
  • Acting as an extension to the senior sales force and providing support and coverage for a wide range of clients including Banks, Asset Managers and Securities Lenders
  • Dealing with a high volume of daily and time sensitive trades utilising Internal trading systems, Bloomberg, iRepo, BARX, CP Trader, SWS, Tradeweb
  • Fielding incoming client enquiries pursuing traders' axes and proactively approaching clients with trade ideas and colour
  • Opening new accounts and being accountable for their maintenance (e.g. coordinating new funds)
  • Liaising with Legal documentation teams to ensure trading documentation (e.g. GMRA / GMSLA) are delivered in a timely manner as well as credit officers
  • Staying uptodate with research and market events
  • Helping with adhoc management reporting through data extraction and manipulation

What we're looking for:


  • Experience in fixed income and derivative products, ideally within the financing markets
  • Proficient with Excel, Bloomberg, VBA or other coding experience
  • Excellent analytical, social, and organisational skills
  • The ability to maintain and prioritise numerous projects simultaneously and work under pressure

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Ability to work with people across various desks and locations
  • A working knowledge of regulation and how it impacts the repo and security lending market including Basel III, FSB work streams on Shadow Banking, FTT, CSDR, etc

With a population of around 5000 staff the atmosphere is second to none with a real buzz being created around the offices within.
