- To be responsible for leading the Radiology service at RHCH
- To promote imaging excellence and to provide specialist knowledge and expert advice regarding general imaging
- To operationally manage the imaging service, including line management of staff.
- To undertake or have an awareness of a wide range of imaging examinations across a range of specialities including general radiology, theatres, mobile, DEXA and Fluoroscopy.
- To independently assess and justify radiology referrals under the Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations 17 and in accordance with the departmental protocols
- To participate in the out of hours / on call / extended working day service as required.
- To ensure that the radiology service is carried out correctly, professionally and within the legal framework
- To develop the Radiology service with the support of the Radiology Department Manager
- Work with the joint RHCH general lead and also the BNHH general lead in delivering an exceptional service to all service users
- To undertake personal and professional development.
- Act as an appropriate role model for the profession and comply with professional standards, guidelines and codes of conduct.
- Investigate and provide first line response to incident reports relating to general radiology.
- To be the joint Modality Lead for the general radiology service at Royal Hampshire County Hospital, working with a team of Consultants, Radiographers, Radiography Department Assistants and Administrative staff
- To provide exemplary patient care and an effective high quality radiology service
- To supervise and assist specialist and junior radiographers
- To assess and justify Radiology referrals and carry out a wide range of Radiology examinations, and to evaluate the results in accordance with professional standards and departmental policy
- Registered HCPC Radiographer
- Management Post graduate training
- Leadership training
- Specialist knowledge of general x-ray
- Extensive Radiology experience
- Evidence of CPD
- Knowledge of radiation protection regulations
- Knowledge of quality assurance, governance and health and safety
- Previous NHS experience
- Attendance at training courses

This is a cross site role involving working at both Royal Hampshire County Hospital and Andover War Memorial Hospital.
